Nataša Govedić

Nataša Govedić (PhD) is theatre and media scholar who regularly contributes to the fields of theatre and performance studies, politics of affects, Shakespeare studies, feminism, philosophy of subjecthood, performance ethics and communal theatre. She needs high levels of imaginozens (invisibles particles of imagination) in her working area in order to survive. After fifteen years of working as independent scholar, lecturer, writer and critic, she is now permanently employed as a full-time lecturer at Academy for Drama (Zagreb). She continues to work as editor-in-chief of feminist journal TRECA, theatre editor in politically progressive magazine ZAREZ, theatre critic in daily newspaper NOVI LIST, and frequent guest-lecturer at Peace studies Zagreb, Women Studies, University of Pedagogical Education etc. So far she has published twelve books on theater and performance (most recent are Subject Outside Control, Zagreb: 2011, and Une parade de cirque: Anthologie des écritures théâtrales contemporaines de Croatie, Paris: L'éspace d'un instant, 2012 and Passions: The Conditionals, Zagreb, 2015 and The Dramaturgy of Illustration, Bologna, 2015). She is also active as theatre dramaturg and/or performer. As a writer, she contributes to the field of children’s literature (writing fairy-tales and awarded novels for children) and she was national curator for children’s books for Bologna Book Fair 2015.
